Hidden Hi(stories)

For international collaborative projects aimed at unlocking hidden stories through design. The emphasis is on stories set in the (local) context of the Dutch colonial past and postcolonial present. The call is part of a knowledge exchange project with the New Institute.

This call focuses on hidden stories that take place in the (local) context of the Dutch colonial past and postcolonial present. We give space to international collaborative projects to unlock these stories through design and to make related issues, insightful, tangible and discussable.

Project proposals can be about local communities or places, but also relate to a diasporic relationship with the Kingdom of the Netherlands. Consider concealed or erased places, rituals, legacies or perspectives. Proposals may focus on stories not previously told, but may also question "canonical" knowledge.

For whom
Proposals can be submitted by designers or cultural organizations active in the fields of design, architecture and/or digital culture. They must enter into an international collaboration with designers and/or cultural organizations in one (or more) country(ies) outside the Kingdom of the Netherlands.

*You can submit a project proposal until September 04.
